Downtown Orlando
Whether a sunrise or sunset, glimmers of pink and rose hues reflect and shimmer off Downtown Orlando’s glass skyscrapers and turn of the century buildings dotting the lake and harbor. Take a natural venture of a lifetime. Aside from a few early-morning or late afternoon joggers, the harbor is a vainglorious mediation of stillness and quiet.
Befitting of its Name City Paddleboards ™ recommends Epic Paddle Adventures offering the ultimate in urban paddleboard outings. According to Angie and Tracy there are two occasions a night. One is ‘Sunset’ sublime and the other ‘Night Glow Paddleboard in Paradise’.
The Night Glow Paddle Tour offers up a unique view of the pristine spring-fed waterway in Lake Ivanhoe. A twice-nightly launch from the Boat Ramp on Lake Ivanhoe the tour is replete with breathtaking views of the City Beautiful. They begin and end in the same location.
Beginner and kid friendly, a lesson is included before the City Light night tour. At the conclusion of this unique adventure, you will have acquired new SUP (stand-up paddleboarding) skills you can take with you on future excursions. Safety and paddleboard techniques are taught along our journey. Stay for a meal after your paddle session at one of the eclectic eateries in Lake Ivanhoe Village. SUPers can wear a bathing suit or workout attire. Going naked is frowned upon within the city limits. Wear your favorite neon or tie-dye outfit for amazing photo opportunities!
“Watching the harbor wake up or go to sleep is sublime, if not purely primeval.” Says Tommy Van Gunten founder of City Paddleboards ™. “Breath deep, exhale and let the world pass you by, if only for an hour or two.”
